Multi-Year Council Strategic Plan 2026-2030
Gitsegukla First Nation has released its 2026–2030 Multi-Year Council Strategic Plan, outlining the priorities that will guide Council and Administration over the next five years. Developed through strategic planning sessions with Council and staff, the plan provides a roadmap for decision-making, departmental work plans, and future community development.
The plan focuses on nine strategic goals:
- improving housing,
- investing in community infrastructure,
- strengthening governance,
- supporting education,
- promoting health and wellbeing,
- enhancing economic development,
- managing the land base,
- revitalizing culture,
- and engaging with the community.
Each goal includes short-, medium-, and long-term objectives designed to strengthen services, support community growth, and improve quality of life for members.
Key priorities include expanding housing opportunities, upgrading infrastructure, improving organizational capacity, supporting education and workforce development, increasing access to health services, creating new economic opportunities, strengthening land management, preserving Gitxsan culture and language, and improving communication and engagement with members.
Council will monitor progress through regular monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews, with departmental work plans and budgets aligned to the Strategic Plan to help ensure priorities continue to move forward over the 2026–2030 term.
